Mamey

Mamey is fruit typical of Mexico, is a cousin of the Avocado (also a fruit) and very very sweet.

When it's ripe (you need an expert to tell you because the hardness is difficult to tell due to its hard skin) you will experience a great flavor, a blend between Papaya and Banana but not quite any of those two as Mamey posses fibers in the pulp.

The fruit is great alone, but can be consumed in "licuados" (smoothies with milk and vanilla) or in Ice Cream.
