Huaraches

Huarache means Sandal.
The sandals used in Mexico are made of leather, both the sole and the straps.
In this case the item in the picture is Huarache de bisteck, which is a long very thick tortilla with beans in the middle. The name comes from the similarity with a sandal's sole, it´s the same shape, size and color. Funny!

After it's cooked some salsa is added, cream and white shreaded cheese.

They are easily stackable to have them ready for the rush hour when everybody is hungry and not willing to wait for them to be hand made and cooked.

Parque Fundidora

The metal plant was converted very succesfully into a park, all the scrap metal was removed and the results are beautiful.

The main building of the oven was opened on 1900 and closed 86 years later.

The Cart serials racetrack with the workshops in the back. The hill in the back is famous Cerro de la Silla (saddle chair Hill because the double tipped mountain reasembles a cowboy saddle chair), the emblem of the city of Monterrey.
Main oven of the melting plant.
